Bringing our teens together
This fall St. Peter’s is launching a youth group for our growing teenage population (grades 6 – 12) so that the youth can meet new friends, learn about the Christian faith and reach out to the community through service projects. Beginning August 22, they will meet weekly for Bible study, games, discussion, and snacks. Throughout the year, the youth will have a chance to participate in various service projects in The Colony and its surrounding areas, a lock-in, and youth retreats. Christiane Gilbert, mother of Addison who will be entering the youth group this fall, said, “I’m so glad that the youth are going to have a voice and a place in the church.”Melissa Mayer, who is leading the group, along with others, commented, “Youth group was extremely formative in my own life as a teenager and is an excellent way for young people to ask questions, grow in their faith, and make life long friendships.” Please contact Melissa Mayer (melissamary@gmail.com).

We are still collecting for the Denton county women's shelter. They are in critical need of twin bed sheets, pillows, and towels (new or clean used items). We have been collecting paper goods for them every month and Karren Shilson has been delivering the items to the shelter. This is a very worthy cause and it is an honor for ECW to be able to help other women who are in great need.Kathy Wismer will put out the basket for the shelter at the church before the meeting.
