Volunteer opportunities
tewart's Creek Elementary
We at St. Peter's have a responsibility for the wider community. We are to bring life and health to a hurting world. Our Lord Jesus Christ said, "Whatever you do to the least of these, you do unto me" We felt our outreach program should touch a local group, and what better group than the children at Stewart's Creek Elementary. Our goal is to help the school and its families not only financially, but also with support, education, and personal interaction.
You can become a part of this ministry in several ways: help with school supplies, make a financial donation, volunteer at the school with the students, or help with a parenting workshop. If you have an interest in helping with the students, your first step is to complete the required background check, which takes about 1 to 2 minutes (www.lisd.net/employment/volapp.html). To check up on your volunteer application status or for more information, contact Karen Pynes at kpynes@swbell.net.

Altar Party
Do you enjoy assisting the priest in leading the people of God in celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ each Sunday? Would you like to serve as an acolyte (children & teenagers) or as a chalice bearer (adults) or reader? Please contact Karl Hartronft for more information and to apply for training to serve on the altar party: hartronft@pobox.com, 214-695-3047.
Altar Guild
If you would enjoy working inside the church and taking care of our cherished altar and sacred vessels — this ministry is for you. Your responsibility would be to prepare and set out the chalice and other necessary furnishings each Sunday, as well as to clean up afterwards. For more information and to apply to become part of the Altar Guild, please contact Kathy Swancutt: Kswancutt@cs.com, 469-323-3373.

Choir
The St. Peter’s Choir, or “The St. Peter’s Pipers,” is an amazing group of younger and older singers, some musically trained and some just here to sing to the Glory of God without knowing anything about music! This diverse group of men and women have joined together — for what have been many years for some — to sing and praise our Lord with their voices and uplifting spirit. This fun and upbeat ministry is terrific for ANYONE, even if you think you can’t sing! We welcome all voices, ages, and personalities to join us in fun and fellowship as we teach musical skills, notation, and voice development. We cater to those who are fearful of singing and welcome those who are ready to let loose vocally! Please contact the music director, Christiane Gilbert, for more information: abcdegilbert@sbcglobal.net, 972-625-6839
Ushers Ministry
As an usher, you will provide not only a valuable service of worship to God, but you will also serve as the face of St. Peter's to our guests and members. You are the person who will make the first and vitally important impression on our guests by smiling and helping newcomers find seating. By giving your time as an usher, you will be helping to make St. Peter's a vibrant and welcoming place of community and worship where lives are transformed and people find hope. We depend upon our ushers to be friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable as they represent St. Peter's. For more information about applying to become an usher, please contact Alan Ladd: aladd6@tx.rr.com, 972-625-3449.
Care and Concern
This ministry provides for those who are going through difficult times in their lives and need assistance by having fully cooked meals delivered to their house or a ride to the doctor’s office, as well as other various needs and services. If you would like to help with this ministry please contact Karen Sipes: kgsipes@att.net, 972-625-2309.
Children’s Ministry

Adopt-A-Street Program
Do you enjoy getting outside and beautifying your community? We would love to have you partake in our bi-monthly streetcleaning program. This is a great way to get to know others while getting exercise and enjoying the beautiful outdoors, all at the same time. The street cleanup requires about two hours of time once every other month. For more information please contact Wayne & Mandy Sueltz: waynemandy@prodigy.net, 972-370-0060.
