Feed me! Feed me!

ow that you have made the big step of giving your life to Jesus, it is important that you grow. How do you do that?

Just as a baby drinks and eats in order to grow, so we as Christians need to feed spiritually.

We do this in three ways:
1. by reading the Bible;
2. by praying and listening to
God; and
3. by meeting with other Christians.

1. Reading the Bible
Get hold of a Bible. It is probably a good idea to find a modern translation because it is easier to understand.

It is best to set a regular time during the day to read the Bible. Do not try to cover a lot of it at once. Reading a little of it and often is the best way. Spend 10 or 15 minutes to start with.

If you click on Bible study plan here or in the left-hand navigation panel and print off the plan, it will help you to get started.

2. Praying and listening to God
Just as we get to know people in our earthly relationships by spending time with them, we get to know about God and Jesus by spending time with them.

Talk to God about the day you have had and any problems that you are experiencing. God is interested in every detail of your life, and don't forget to praise and thank God for who he is and the great things you find around you.

Talk to God as if you were talking to your best friend because that is what you now have — a friend who will stick by you, through and through. Spend about
5 – 10 minutes each day talking and listening to Him.

3. Meeting other Christians
It is important that you find time to meet with other Christians because we grow by listening and talking to them. Find a church in which you feel comfortable. You may need to visit a couple of churches before you find one. We at St. Peter's welcome you to join our family.
