PEGS is Positive Eating Group Support, a new ministry
offered at
St. Peter's. This group is intended to support people who are
looking
to eat in a healthy manner, whether that be to lose weight, lower
cholesterol, manage or avoid diabetes or maintain their current
weight. No specific diet plan is endorsed, other than the food
pyramid
designed by the United States Department of Agriculture. A
spiritual
approach is taken toward healthy eating, following guidelines set by
Norris Chumley in his book called
The Joy of Weight Loss.
Owning or reading the book is not a requirement of attending the
meetings. Information about his program can also be found at

in the Health Area under Spiritual Weight Loss.
The group meets at the church on Saturday mornings at
9:00 a.m.,
and all are welcome to attend. There is no charge for the
meeting, and
there is a nursery available for young children during the meeting.
